  • SelectTech and Other Ohio UAS Experts Take “Fly Ohio” Message to AUVSI

    A team of Ohio's Unmanned Aerial Systems experts, including SelectTech Geospatial's Director, Frank Beafore, recently traveled to XPONENTIAL 2018 in Denver, CO to share why the Buckeye State's UAS industry continues to grow and thrive.  The global conference organized by the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) marks one of the industry's leading annual gatherings, featuring more than 600 companies in 20 UAS-related industries.  8000 industry professionals from 55 countries attended the three-day event.  This year, the Ohio team partnered with the US Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) to focus on the growing partnership between Ohio and AFRL in Springfield, OH.  … more

  • SelectTech Partnership with Clark State Continues to Grow

        

    The Clark State Community College and SelectTech partnership to advance collaborative UAS research reached a new milestone with the delivery of two new aircraft and launch system for Clark State's Precision Agriculture Program.  Clark State and SelectTech used a grant from the Ohio Department of Higher Education to support the development and purchase of the Ohio-developed, sourced, and manufactured technology.  SelectTech provided fixed wing and vertical take-off and landing aircraft and associated ground support equipment to allow Clark State to expand their program.  "Hands-on experience forms the foundation of Clark State's Precision Agriculture Program, and it is vital we have … more

  • SelectTech Geospatial Delivers 2nd Custom EH-4X UAS to Sinclair Community College

     

    SelectTech Geospatial personnel recently delivered a second EH-4X vertical takeoff unmanned aircraft system (UAS) to Sinclair Community College (SCC).  The EH-4X aircraft was custom designed and built for a search and rescue (SAR) mission demonstration.  The aircraft carries a 3-pount special SAR payload and sends live streaming data to a dedicated ground station.  The system is designed to optimize the SAR mission while providing a vital communications link between lost personnel and related rescue operations.  Sinclair is engaged in UAS certification and related research and development.  SelectTech designs and builds custom UAS for government, industry, and academia applications.   … more

  • SelectTech Recognized With 2017 TechConnect Defense Innovation Award

    During this year's Defense Innovation Summit (DITAC), held 3-5 October in Tampa, FLorida, SelectTech and partners Universal Technology Corporation (UTC) were recognized with a 2017 TechConnect Defense Innovation Award for our Sentry Eagle project and EH-4/HL system exhibit and presentation.  The award was presented to companies that placed in the top 15% of all submitted technologies, as ranked by the DITAC Program Committee.  See us listed on the 2017 Defense Innovations Awards Page.  www.defenseinnovation.us

  • Kuwait SLIPs Delivered

    SelectTech successfully delivered the last two of nine Kuwait Air Force Senior Leader In-Transit Pallets (SLIP) to Kuwait’s freight forwarder in Dover, Delaware on Thursday March 16th. These were the first SLIP’s ordered and delivered to a Foreign Military Sales customer using S&K Aerospace’s Parts and Repair Ordering System (PROS) IV contract vehicle. The Kuwait SLIPs are now operational as VIP travel suites transported on Kuwait AF C-17 aircraft.   • SelectTech Introduces LA-3000 Launcher

    SelectTech GeoSpatial introduced the LA-3000 sUAS portable launcher at the 2017 AUVSI Exposition. The LA-3000 launcher was designed to launch the SelectTech EP-3000 sUAS fixed wing aircraft (12 pounds with full payload and batteries). The LA-3000 can be modified to fit several small (10 – 25 pound) fixed wing aircraft models. The launcher is retracted via an electric winch and triggered by a battery powered remote control. The control can also be modified to be launched by a ground control station (GCS). Cycle time (launch to launch) is 45 seconds.

  • SelectTech, UDRI, UTC Successfully Test Sentry Eagle

    Working with the University of Dayton Research Institute and Universal Technologies Corp., a SelectTech team recently achieved the first successful flights of the Sentry Eagle security surveillance system. Sentry Eagle combines geospatial information from the Footprint® ground based surveillance system to automatically launch and guide a sUAS to a point of interest. If a threat is observed, the system follows the threat in real time and streams live video of the situation. Tests were performed at Springfield Beckley airport, home of SelectTech’s Advanced Manufacturing Facility.

  • Geospatial Receives Order to Modify the AFRL PEDRO Shelter

    Leidos, Inc. awarded a second Sensors Analysis, Integration, and Test (SAIT) program task to SelectTech Geospatial LLC. The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) has an S-280 Shelter, intended as a 4-person data processing center, configured with racks, mounting locations for monitors, and seating. Leidos tasked SelectTech personnel to add electrical switches, receptacles, wiring for power and signals, lighting, and a heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) system to the current shelter configuration.   • SAMS ESA Lite II Installation Completed

    In partnership with the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center's Rapid Development Integration Facility (RDIF) and CNI Aviation, LLC, a SelectTech Geospatial team successfully designed, built, installed and completed testing of three SAMS ESA Lite II Group A kits at Cannon AFB, New Mexico. SAMS-ESA Lite II provides operators with the ability to send and receive C2 data beyond line-of-site (BLOS) via email using tactical radios.
