AF LCMC Program Management Academy Visits SelectTech GeoSpatial
On 16 April, 2019, twenty-nine USAF civil service and military officer trainees from the AF Life Cycle Management Center's (LCMC) Program Management Academy visited the SelectTech GeoSpatial Advanced Manufacturing Facility (SGAMF) in Springfield, OH. The purpose of their visit was to give these current and future acquisition leaders a glimpse into operations at a small business that's successfully providing a range of products and services to the government and government prime contractors. The Program Management Academy, whose reporting chain is through the AF LCMC's Acquisition Excellence Director, has been arranging a number of these visits in the Dayton/Wright-Patterson AFB region, which is rich with small businesses supporting WPAFB programs and activities. Academy members were introduced to the five SelectTech GeoSpatial product markets and toured our work centers, located in our hangar adjacent to Springfield-Beckley airport and the Springfield Air National Guard base. In addition, Roger Manemann, one of our Senior Program Managers (pictured), gave them a review of one of our current AF programs from the vendor/supplier perspective. Roger showed them what SelectTech PM's are expected to know and report when they talk with customers and corporate executives. Frank Beafore, the SGAMF Executive Director, said, "These folks are the current and future leaders of the LCMC's acquisition process. To experience first hand what their supplier base is doing in support of their requirements is a great step in ensuring effective government/industry collaboration in current and future programs!"
