SelectTech Recognized With 2017 TechConnect Defense Innovation Award

During this year's Defense Innovation Summit (DITAC), held 3-5 October in Tampa, FLorida, SelectTech and partners Universal Technology Corporation (UTC) were recognized with a 2017 TechConnect Defense Innovation Award for our Sentry Eagle project and EH-4/HL system exhibit and presentation.  The award was presented to companies that placed in the top 15% of all submitted technologies, as ranked by the DITAC Program Committee.  See us listed on the 2017 Defense Innovations Awards Page.

Sentry Eagle is an ongoing collaboration among SelectTech, UTC, and the University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI).  A first phase demonstration was recently completed successfully with the help of the Defense Manufacturing Assistance Program (DMAP), managed by the regents of the University of Michigan and The Ohio State University.  Sentry Eagle is proving the concept of connecting a ground based sensor system with small unmanned aircraft to provide a seamless and almost instantaneous "eyes on" air/ground security system for large areas of real estate.  Example applications of the Sentry Eagle security system include large public gatherings, sporting events, protection of public utilities, management and protection of large parcels of real estate, perimeter security for civilian and government properties, and coverage for fire and other emergency responder operations.  The SelectTech/UTC/UDRI team is continuing to develop the technical and logistic aspects of Sentry Eagle, with a goal of fully commercializing the project in the near future.

SelectTech's EH-4/HL Heavy Lift Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) System is a tough, survivable VTOL sensor platform designed for aggressive applications.  Emphasis has been placed on stability, ease of maintenance, and ruggedness for a variety of applications.
